Drennan North West man Colin Mayor continued his progress up the podium in recent weeks to grab top spot off Peg 82 on Covey 4. With the biggest field of 84 Anglers taking part the fishing was always going to be tight.

Colin drew in an area that contained a good head of fish on the day and worked his swim in all areas to record a weight of 57-04. His catch consisted of Ide, Commons and F1 Hybrids.

He was pressed all the way with 3 other anglers recording weights in excess of 50lb, they were Pete Southall 52-02 off Peg 73, Phil Alton 51-12 off Peg 86. In fourth place was John McFarland who was on Peg 83 next to the winner with a weight of 50-15.

There were 21 anglers who all has big smiles on their faces having picked up cash envelopes. Due to the sudden increase in numbers and to avoid disappointment it is recommended that you pre-book your place with Richard.

Maggot, shallow down the track. Corn at the far bank conditions were still over cast and warm.

Richard caught feeding maggot down the edge and down the middle using double white maggot on the hook.

Winner, on a Blustery Covey 4, produced fish on double white maggott at 5mtr down the track, 2mtr down the edge on corn with a winning weight of 54lb. A mixed net of commons, mirrors F1s and IDE.
