Partridge Lakes have made the difficult decision to close our gates once again for the second national lockdown.

Although there have been various announcements suggesting that angling may still being allowed to continue, we feel that the government stating that outdoor leisure venues are to close, essential travel only for short journeys and only essential shops to be open only indicates strongly that our facilities should close temporarily.

Although we have considered so many reasons to stay open – we completely understand and agree the sport can be done safely and socially distanced and has a positive impact on mental health, but under the lockdown rules we feel that we would be in breach of numerous points and we just can not take that risk as our main priority always has and will be the safety of our staff and customers – Partridge wants to be here for you for the long term with a happy and healthy team and we feel that closing is the best decision for that.

We also expect that match fishing, especially team events will be stopped as amateur sports have been ordered to stop, and unfortunately, we would not be in a position to remain open for the month of November without the attendance of match anglers.

So, it is with a heavy heart, the Fishery will be closed Thursday 5th November 2020 onwards, our Tackle Shop and Café will be closed as of Thursday onwards too.

We will be contacting all anglers who are owed money from winning matches (last couple from the club match championship, Sundays winter league team captains and any open matches), we will refund any tickets bought for Thursday onwards back into your bank, you do not need to contact us we will do this today – it takes up to 3-5 days to land into your bank account, and members will be contacted directly via email.

As it stands at the moment, our Winter Leagues will be postponed depending on how long competitive fishing is stopped for – if it runs on too long we will sadly have to cancel the leagues and all monies will be refunded.

We will of course keep you updated throughout with updates as soon as we know anything further, apparently there will be more updates on Wednesday and Thursday but with 18 staff and their families to think of, I could not leave it until that late in the day to decide, but until then please keep safe and we look forward to welcoming you all back onto our banks again soon!
